Overview
Sometimes in working with an organization’s data, it is easy to lose sight of the forest through the trees. At times the ability to step back and view data from different perspectives can help focus efforts in the most effective manner. Reports are a key tool for helping to shape a large set of data into a meaningful picture. ITAM comes with several built-in reports to facilitate understanding the data collecting and identifying meaningful actions to take based on the results.
In this section of the Examiner Guide, we’ll look at an overview of the functionality of the My Reports view.
My Reports View
The My Reports view displays the reports which have been made available by the Administrator for the entities over which you have oversight. The initial view displays the currently accessible reports.
The color-coding indicates whether the report is considered current based on the criteria set by the Administrator who created the report. Green means the report is still within the anticipated window of viability and Red indicates a report which has expired.
The Scheduled Completion Date is used to determine whether a report has expired.
Viewing a Report
The option to view a report is available after the report name has been expanded in the main Report Manager screen. Similar to the accordion feature found in other areas of the ITAM application, a report is expanded by clicking anywhere in the colored bar representing the report.
Once expanded the View Report link is exposed allowing the report to be displayed. Clicking on the link will display the report using the data which matches the criteria selected when creating the report.
In this section, we explored the My Reports page and how to access the reports which have been made available to your organization by an Administrator. In the next section, we’ll look at the different types of reports available and the data which they provide.
