Changing Passwords

It is a best practice to change your password on your account from time to time. The ITAM interface allows you to change your password using the Change Password button on the local menu of the My Profile section.

Change Password

To change the user password simply enter a password in the New Password field and then verify it by entering it again in the Confirm Password field. To complete the update click the Change Password button below the fields.

Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an optional but highly recommended security setting on all Administrative User Accounts. Once enabled, it is set up by the user when logging into the ITAM for the first time.

Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication

ITAM comes with two options for setting MFA. Option 1 involves using an Open Authenticator mobile app. Option 2 involves setting up ITAM to send an email with a log in code. Option 1 is the recommended approach.

Option 1

As noted in the instructions on the screen for MFA, the user will install an Open Authenticator app (if not already installed) and then scan the QR code using the app and then enter the 6-digit security code presented and click the Verify Code button

Option 2

This option involves registering an email address at which you will receive one-time codes during the log in process.

For either option, once complete, ITAM will display a success notification.

Resetting Multi-Factor Authentication

If you have already set it up on your account and you desire to change your MFA setup, you can click the Reset MFA button This will log the user out after resetting their MFA settings. The next time you log in you will be prompted to set up the MFA again.

Reset MFA

After clicking on the Reset MFA button the user will be logged out. Upon logging in again, the user will be prompted to set up their MFA again. To do so they need to follow the same steps as they did when first setting it up.

Viewing User Activity

Clicking on the My Activity button will display the user's activity within the ITAM.

My Activity

The Administrative User is given a number of options when viewing their activity. They can view an audit log of their activity by clicking on the Audit Log button, view a log of their Uploaded files by clicking on the Uploaded Files Document Log button, and view a log of their user sessions by clicking on the User Session Log. Regardless of which log they are viewing, they can download a copy of the information by clicking the Save as CSV, Save as Excel, and Save as PDF buttons, depending on the format in which the Administrative User desires the data.
